Bournemouth International Centre
After previous successful projects completed with BCP Council, we were asked to work on the refurbishment works at The Bournemouth International Centre. This was a part of extensive works to upgrade and renew the BIC, as well as creating an impressive rear entrance to the complex, and the ice-skating rink. We were tasked with supplying & installing the full new flat roof system, as well as the new wildflower living roof, as well as completing various repairs on other parts of the roof areas on this impressive building.
Roof system installed – Plywood deck, Vapour control layer, PIR tissue faced insulation, Alwitra VSK single ply membrane system, Wildflower sedum green roof system.
Instead of the usual gravel stone perimeter border, walkway paving slabs have been installed. The roof was built on a pitch, so we have installed a retention system into the wildflower roof to maintain its position.
It will take approximately 6-8 weeks for the wildflower seeds to start growing out and in turn creating an impressive entrance to the building. Updated pictures to follow when it starts to bloom.
