This project was a full property restoration and extension for the new owner who required disabled access and a hydrotherapy suite.
The new flat roof extension wrapped around two sides of the existing property and is now home to the new indoor swimming pool and therapy chamber. We started by fully adhering a Stratavap self-adhered vapour control layer to this warm roof installation. Stratavap is brilliant for high-humidity areas and provides long-lasting performance. Once this was laid, we installed 140mm PIR insulation and then fully adhered a Alwitra VSK single-ply membrane.
On the front of the property, we stripped the existing pitched roof from the mono-pitch. We then installed new timber batten, a breather membrane, and reclaimed tiles to match the property’s main pitched roof. Along with the mono-pitched roof, we completed the tile hanging. Specialist lead works consisted of lead welding across the property’s abutment to the mono-pitch and then installing a new lead tray around the flat roof’s abutment wall.
