Rothesay Point, Highcliffe
This was a bit of a different project completed on the Highcliffe seaside. The existing tiled pitched roof was having numerous issues due to the existing degree of the fall on the roof itself, causing problems for the tile systems, and causing water ingress in high winds.
The roof was stripped of all tiles, roofing batten and breather membrane, before being fitted with new plywood and a bitumen back vapour control layer. We then fitted 120mm PIR tissue faced insulation and Alwitra single ply membrane was fully adhered to the insulation. We had to take into account the wind load calculations for a roof area this high and this close to the waterfront, meaning we had to adhere to specific fixing points across each elevation to ensure longevity and safety of the new system.
Around the low point perimeter edge of the roof we fitted aluminium membrane coated trim profiles for an aesthetic finish.
